I don’t know if it is just me but I think I have detected more focus on NHS services in the community ie GPs and primary care – which is all good. I understand something like 90% of healthcare happens in the community, yet sometimes it feels like it gets 10% of the attention. To my mind, it is most important that we get that right, helping people to stay at home, active and supported in their communities, self-managing long-term conditions where possible. Primary care’s role is therefore pivotal.
